Curran: (2/2) [On settling on MI London's best XI] A little bit, I think. Obviously, with Rutherford missing that first game, kind of, the line-up today was probably what we looked... I felt like we were really comfortable with in terms of trying to get our best... I guess Nicky Pooran and the way he played the other day. We just thought, try give these guys as many balls as they can, even if they do have a look. I feel like the other day at the Welsh Fire, we kind of... we started really well, but before you know it, you're kind of... me, your Poorans, your Rutherfords, we're still in the sheds with kind of 40 balls to go, and you're thinking, maybe we make that play earlier. So, happy with how it went. [On teams looking to get ahead of the rate before the last 50 balls] A little bit, I think, at the Oval, the new ball's obviously done a little bit as well. You could say the first 20, so it's almost that period from maybe 30 balls to 60 is where teams seem to get momentum. But it's a new season again, new teams, new combinations. So, I feel like after two, three games, you should pretty much know where you want to be.

Sam Curran | MI London captain: (1/2) Yeah, what a game, I guess. Credit to the Southern Brave there. They dragged it back nicely, and it just shows this format, I feel like, when you're out the game, somehow those 10 balls from one end, a little bit of a wicket and a little panic, you always stay in the game as a bowling side. And, yeah, I thought we were really good today. I thought we bowled really well. I know that we won there on the last ball, but I thought we were pretty good throughout. [On Sherfane Rutherford's cameo] It did (help) a little bit. Me and Jacks, I didn't feel under huge pressure with Jacks there. We kind of kept it at that, about 60 off 40 balls, and it was kind of working out three sixes right... I guess never really felt under huge pressure, but Rutherford, the way he played there, wow, he's got a beautiful swing, similar to Nicky Pooran, and they strike the ball so clean. And those little cameos in The Hundred actually go unnoticed a little bit, and we've spoken about that. Guys getting a 50 like Jacks did, and then everyone just chipping in around. [On why it was a low-scoring game] Yeah, it's a big ground, obviously, here at Southampton. We kind of... the surface was one of those hybrid wickets that we didn't really know how it was going to play. We actually thought it was a fresh pitch, and then they played on that the other day. So, just used our slow balls, dimensions, and you've got quality spinners as well, like Rashid bowled really well. And I thought, yeah, just used our change-ups, and 130 we were very happy with.

Will Jacks | Hero of the Match: [On the tense finish] Yeah, very, very tight one at the end there. Very relieved just to get over the line. It was a hard-fought game. Tricky little surface, and we had to pace the chase, but right now just happy to win. [On chasing 129] Well, we knew we were in the game. And then after the powerplay, they obviously bowled Joff's 10 balls early on, so we knew that later in the innings we might be able to pounce. And obviously, having 10 balls with Nikhil at the end nearly worked, but that was kind of in our favor. [On his approach with the bat] Well, we've spoken about sometimes with the new ball in the 100 can be almost the hardest time to bat, depending on the surface. So I got out quite early in the last few games, so it was about kind of assessing the conditions, taking it a bit deeper. And obviously, we lost two quick wickets and I had to play that role. [On opening for MI London after batting in the middle order for England] I've always been an opener, but to be honest, whatever team I play for, I'll just do whatever's needed. My role for England is one that I've grown to absolutely love. [On the significance of the win] Yeah, I think that's a bit of a watershed moment. I think if you win those kind of games, it propels the group forward, brings us together, and we're very happy.

They prevailed in a tight contest, winning by 3 wickets in a thrilling last-over finish, with Pope holding his nerve to see them through. Chasing a below-par total, MI London lost two early wickets before a key partnership between Jacks and Sam Curran brought them back into the contest. A sudden collapse made it look as though they might slip up, but the lower order stayed calm to get them over the line.
