Imran Tahir (on his captaincy): [Mehedi Hasan Miraz, his first game tonight, that was satisfying, in addition to everyone else?] Yeah, look we had Nabi. He obviously, his standards were really, really high. You know, he's been our best bowler, but look, he came and I think we felt, to be honest with you, nothing, and then he bowled really, really well. I think just exactly how we were thinking. So, yeah, look, really nice to have him. He's a world-class bowler, been performing all over the world internationally. So, yeah, I think I'm very excited, obviously, to bowl with him and all the other guys around him. [You know you guys have depth.] Yeah, I mean, you know, we've got four guys who can come anytime and they need ten balls to change the game, and I think Semo (Sampson) was one of them tonight, and the way he hit the ball, it was incredible to watch. But we know the guys have power, Sheppy, Pretorius. We got a Shamar who can hit some sixes. So, yeah, look, you know, that middle part is really solid. [On the Warriors fans] Yeah, look, the fans have always been there, really, really grateful for them. They come every year, and, you know, the big numbers, and we highly appreciate their support because, when we play here it's different than anywhere else, and for me especially in the world, really. So that kind of motivates me as well. Look, obviously, coming back to your point, Trinidad (TKR) we know it's a very, very good team, but it's a good challenge again, and we're looking at one game at a time. We need to come up with our plans, they need to come up with their plans, and I'm pretty sure we can't wait for the game, and we want to deliver what we've been doing.

Imran Tahir | Player of the Match: [Tell us about how you keep churning out these types of performances?] Yeah, look, I've been waiting that for a long time, to be honest with you. But for me, I think my role is obviously to contain in the middle. I am an attacking bowler, you know, the wickets come, I don't mind. But I think my son, he's the main guy who's been pushing me. He keeps telling me, Daddy, one more year, one more year, and you need to play with me. So it's obviously kind of motivation I want to give it to him, and all the youngsters who are watching me around the world, that, I put a lot of hard work into it, and it's nice to see when it's come, obviously come out the way that how you want it, and, you know, especially for the team. It's not obviously personal achievement I look for, but yeah, look we work hard to obviously get the personal achievement, and I'm very lucky that I delivered today. [When do you bowl those googlies?] I think it was a little bit turning for me, so I had to show a little bit of my leggies, which two or three spun away, and I think that obviously plays in batter's head, and I've got my straighter one, which I always can bowl, and just trying to keep tricking the batsman that they wait for my straighter one and googly. But I think the way the ball came out tonight from my hand, it was really good. My line and length were really good, pitch on line, and obviously turned very sharply. In Providence you get that, but I think the previous two games I wasn't getting that kind of bite, but yeah, look, I think I just give credit where the way I bowled on the length, I think that's the more important thing for me.

Roston Chase: Not the total that we were looking for. Initially we wanted to post around 150, 160, because we know that the wicket was going to be difficult looking at it, and we know in Guyana it's going to be spin-based. But we lost too many wickets after the good start that we had. We didn't capitalise on that, and we just lost wickets in clusters, and we never really got back into the game once we lost those wickets. [You must have been pleased with the fight that you saw from your bowlers?] Yeah, after we saw how the Guyanese bowled on the wicket, we thought that we didn't say that was the total that we wanted, but we still thought that once we could limit them in the power play and get some early inroads. We didn't get those inroads, but we kept the score rate down, so we still thought that we were in with a shot once we got the run rate up to nine or ten. We got close there, we got it up to nine, but it's still going to be difficult to contain probably nine runs at the end with wickets in hand, and it showed. [What were some of the things that you'll take away?] I think the bowling especially in the middle overs, I thought that was the hallmark of our team, and that's one thing that we can take. I just think that we didn't really consistent enough with the batting, and that really let us down in the tournament, and also in the field. And I thought that if we grasped our chances a bit more, we could have probably gained a bit more points as well. [Kamil Pooran with the bat, a word on him?] Yeah, outstanding season for him, first CPL season. It was nice to watch him play. I never really saw him play before, probably once in a first-class game, but I knew he had talent, but I didn't know that he was this good, especially in T20 cricket, and I'm proud of him. I expect big things from him to come.

Earlier in the day, Kamil Pooran and Obus Pienaar played key roles for the Warriors, while a crucial 38-run final-wicket stand helped Saint Lucia Kings post a respectable total. The standout performance came from Imran Tahir, who claimed an impressive five-wicket haul. Miraz was equally effective with the ball, picking up three wickets while conceding just 13 runs from his four overs. In response, the Saint Lucia Kings’ spinners kept the opposition under pressure with their clever bowling, but the target ultimately proved too modest to defend. Phillips and Hope chipped in with useful runs, but Sampson’s blistering 37 off just 11 deliveries ultimately sealed the game for his side and ended the Saint Lucia Kings’ hopes.
