Japan's players take a lap of the ground before bowing in their traditional style to the people who came out to support them. Their first game against a full member was a memorable outing, and they played with smiles on their faces throughout, clearly enjoying the occasion. As for India, there isn't too much to take away from a game that was always expected to be one-sided. The bowling, which has been in good form, once again did a terrific job, but the couple of batters who were given an opportunity to move up the order couldn't make it count, leaving Shafali Verma to do the bulk of the scoring in the chase. Kamalini fell for a duck, while Fulmali was dismissed for six. Shafali Verma continued her fine form, smashing four boundaries in the very first over. She did lose a couple of partners along the way, but Richa Ghosh, promoted to No. 4, joined her and the pair wrapped up the chase in just 5 overs. For Japan, the two wickets they picked up will be a positive to take from an otherwise difficult outing, and they can take heart from the fact that their bowlers managed to create a couple of openings against India's formidable batting line-up.
