That then is a wrap of this high-scoring thriller. Plenty of oohs and aahs along the way, but in the end, the home side held their nerve to pick up their second win in seven games and, importantly, their first victory on home soil this season. For the Tridents, it is a third straight defeat after they opened their campaign with back-to-back wins. The good news, though, is that the race remains wide open. Holder 2/2: [On the message at the innings break] I'm probably running out of words, trying to find ways to keep the guys motivated. But the thing about this group is they've all bought in. We haven't really clicked, but hopefully tonight gives us a little bit more belief. Games like this are really important for our campaign. In the past we've not been able to get over the line in close games, but tonight shows us that we can definitely do it. Hopefully that should give the guys some belief and we can go a little bit deeper into this competition. This is the time that you really want to be catching momentum. Hopefully this leg of the tournament for us ends well, and then we move on to Guyana and Barbados. [On the umpiring controversy] I wasn't out there, so I don't really have the nature to comment. But for me, I just think it's very messy. For us in the Caribbean, we just don't want to see things like that happening. I think it's probably a wake-up call for the umpires just to be a little bit more firm and decisive when it comes to decision-making. It doesn't look good seeing a player going off the field and then having to be called back on. In terms of the wides and stuff, we only ask for consistency. They're only human as well and they definitely will make mistakes, but hopefully we can clean up a little bit more going forward. [On Zachary Carter's maiden CPL half-century] It's good to see young players coming through. He's obviously one of those players who packs a heavy punch. He's one of the most dynamic players that we've got coming through. This is the first time I'm really seeing him live for myself, but I've obviously followed his progress so far. I think we need to see more youngsters in this tournament blossoming. Hopefully we can get a few more youngsters to put their hands up and take charge. He's been given an opportunity here at Barbados Tridents and so far he's been taking it. Hopefully he continues in that vein, and not so much against us.

Jason Holder | Tridents skipper: [On a thrilling win] An excellent game of cricket. A tough game of cricket. Both sides played some really good cricket. We're just happy to get over the line. [On Johnson Charles stepping up with a match-winning innings] That's just the calibre of player he is. Johnson is one of the most confident players I've ever played cricket with. We had lengthy discussions between games and he always kept that belief. Obviously, it didn't come off for him in the first couple of games, but the way he went about today's innings was outstanding. I think the partnership with him and Kyle was exactly what we needed to get off to a really good start. I must commend Kyle. I thought Kyle's role in the partnership was outstanding. He could have easily slowed down or just got bored and chucked it away, but his importance in that partnership was staying there and keeping it going. [On Kyle Mayers' role in the partnership] Johnson was the guy going. Kyle's role in the partnership was to keep it together and keep ticking it over. It was important still to have a left-hander at the crease. I think Kyle did an outstanding job, and those two complemented each other really well. Hopefully this could be the start of something special and we get some momentum going through the rest of this tournament. [On his flexible captaincy and bowling changes] For us, the initial thinking was that it's a boundary-scoring ground, and today we were putting on the pressure. We didn't help ourselves in the field, obviously putting down some crucial chances. Having said that, I was really pleased with the way the guys hung in and still had the belief at the halfway point. Sometimes at the halfway stage when chasing 218, it could be a little bit daunting. But the way we hung in there, built some partnerships and got over the line was really important.

Green 2/2: [On the middle-overs fightback] Definitely. At halfway, they were halfway there in the run chase. They had 10 wickets in hand, so it was a little bit advantage them. But I like the way we pulled it back. Shafane Rutherford stood up with the ball, asking for that over, and he stepped up and delivered the run-out wicket. Then it was Motie and Mujeeb who clawed it back fantastically, and we were starting to edge our way back in front. It was just probably a little bit at the start where they were able to get too far ahead of the game. [On the message to the team ahead of the Barbados leg] We've got to leave it behind. We've got five good games at home to look forward to. We've got to turn that into our home-ground advantage. Win four out of five will guarantee qualification. Win three, then it's going to rely on run rate. We've got a good team. There's a lot of belief in this group. For the most part of this game tonight, we played well and we've got to take confidence from that. I'm looking forward to getting home, playing in Barbados, and we'll be driving that 12th man in our favour and trying to deliver some wins for the home team.

Chris Green | SNP skipper: [On the defeat] Gutted, disappointed. Really proud of our efforts with the bat. We needed to clock 200. You never like losing games of cricket when one of your top players steps up and gets 100 with 220 on the board at halfway. I felt really confident. We started well and then I think we just lost our way a little bit with the ball. To be honest, as players, we cop a lot of vilification. The umpires tonight, I thought they managed the game poorly with that decision and the way that a player goes off the field and then comes back on. I think that needs to be looked at, and it's not a good look for this tournament. [On the communication regarding Johnson Charles being brought back after being given out] I had no communication. [On whether execution with the ball let them down] A little bit. There was good batting. Johnson Charles is a fantastic, experienced player. He took it away from us a little bit at the front. Then I thought we clawed it back really well through the middle with the likes of Mujeeb and Motie. At the back end as well, they did a fantastic job under pressure. Bowling second in the Caribbean is always tough. It did get wet out here with the dew picking up. Full credit to them. We tried our best to defend it, and it's something we've got to look at going into our next five games to get us over the line and defend good batting totals.

Charles 2/2: [On the message from the coach and captain before the must-win game] We've always had a very cool and calm camp. It's all about us as players going out and playing our roles. It's about accountability also. I know I wasn't playing my role to the best of my ability, but it's finally nice to come out and play my role and put the team in a very good position. [On Quinton de Kock's outstanding innings] It was a lovely innings, to be honest. We put him down a couple of times, but that's cricket. Quinton did QdK things. It was a lovely innings. Sometimes it goes for you and sometimes it doesn't. [On the controversial full toss decision] From the very get-go, I thought that it was a no-ball because it's all about the point of contact. I thought it was a no-ball right there and then. But some controversy just to liven up the game. It's all up to the umpires. [On whether this win can turn their tournament around] I think that's a big turnaround for us. Looking at the table, anybody could qualify. I think it's a turning point for us. Once we can come out of this leg with another win, I think we have other teams under pressure.

Johnson Charles | Player of the Match: [On finally delivering after a difficult run of form] I came good at the right time. But I'm a bit late to the party. We've been having a pretty decent tournament in terms of the dressing room. Everything is good, but we've just not been able to put out the performances and come together as a team. [On his approach while chasing a massive total] That's the case. I must say I've been seeing the ball pretty big. I've been in good form. Confidence is high, but it's just not coming through. Such is cricket, that's how the game goes. I'm happy I'm back and I'm doing good things for the team. Even if I'm late to the party, I'm hoping that I can put the team in a very good position. [On the support from the home crowd] I'm loving it. Thanks to the crowd for coming out in such great numbers. The support is really good. It helps us a lot, home advantage. We have one more game, so we're just looking to leave this leg on a high.

23:00 local, 03:00 GMT, 08:30 IST: The chase had all the ingredients of a proper drama. Charles and Mayers started cautiously, but just as Charles began to find his rhythm, he was caught off a no-ball from Simmonds while on 26. What followed was a controversial moment, with Charles initially given out before being called back after a recheck confirmed the no-ball. It sparked plenty of reactions from both camps and resulted in an unnecessary pause in play. Charles returned with renewed intent and went on the attack, helping St. Kitts race to 110 at the end of 10 overs. The momentum did slow down once both openers departed within the space of 16 balls, but the platform was already in place. Dasun Shanaka, Jason Holder, Wanindu Hasaranga and Andre Fletcher then chipped in with valuable contributions to ensure the strong start did not go to waste. St. Kitts kept their nerve through the closing stages and completed the 4th highest successful run chase in the history of CPL. Stick around for the post-match reactions...
