But Santner pounced on the ball with a full length dive to put Virat in doubt and he hit reverse gear. SKY was already close to him by then. The throw was actually off and went to Boult who was nowhere and in the middle of the pitch. But SKY was too far down the pitch that Boult smartly under-arm flicked it back to Latham to effect an easy runout. What a terrific piece of fielding by Santner. The replays suggests Virat would have probably made it had he taken off immediately. You can't really say the run wasn't on, but Virat just wanted to play it safe and understandably so.
