MCA to document Mumbai's domestic season
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is planning a documentary series on the upcoming domestic season and the hallowed history of cricket in the city. MCA president Ajinkya Naik sought permission from the BCCI for the project, which has since been approved.
“We want to document the entire season of the Mumbai senior team. Whether it takes the form of a web series or a documentary will be decided as we progress, but the idea is to give fans a unique look at what goes on behind the scenes with the Mumbai team throughout the season,” Naik said.
The MCA president went on to add, “We want to capture the journey from Day 1 of our senior team’s preparations for the Ranji Trophy right through to the final match of the season. Mumbai cricket has such a rich heritage, and we felt — why not showcase it to the world? Let people see the preparation, hard work and culture behind a 42-time Ranji Trophy champion side.
“More importantly, this initiative will help youngsters understand what it takes to succeed at the highest level — the discipline, preparation, teamwork and commitment that define Mumbai cricket. It will give the next generation an opportunity to learn from our rich cricketing legacy and inspire them to carry it forward.”
Patrick Graham, a Mumbai-based director who has worked on projects for major OTT platforms, including Netflix and Amazon Prime, will helm the series.
David White resigns as ILT20 CEO
ILT20 has said its Chief Executive Officer David White has left, requesting the league not to extend his contract.
“I have decided to return to my home country (New Zealand) after three hugely successful years with the DP World International League T20. I am grateful to the ILT20 for accepting my request. I thoroughly enjoyed my stint at the league, which in recent years has grown into one of the top T20 tournaments in the world,” White, who joined the ILT20 as the league CEO in September 2023, said. He was at the helm for three seasons of the tournament - from 2023-2025.
“The ILT20 team acknowledges the hard work and commitment of David White as the league’s CEO in his three-year stay and thank him for his services. Under White, the league made great progress and succeeded in establishing itself as one of the major tournaments in the world. White played a leading role in the league’s growth during his tenure. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours,” ILT20 chairman Khalid Al Zarooni said.
