England Lions have named a strong and large squad to take on Sri Lanka in a two-match T20 series scheduled for this week. In a rare move, 20 players have been pickedfor this short series with the selectors adding seven players from the senior squads announced recently.

Uncapped Aneurin Donald, the returning Jamie Overton, Tom Banton, James Coles, Will Jacks and Saqib Mahmood are the six players from the England T20I squad included in the 20-man group. Uncapped Henry Crocombe has been drafted in from the ODI setup as the selectors opt to give this group game time ahead of the white-ball series against the touring Sri Lankan side.

Capped internationals Mason Crane, Tom Hartley and Luke Wood feature in the large group as well apart from the young trio of Caleb Falconer, Ben Mayes and Joe Moores who were a part of the U19 squad that reached the World Cup final earlier this year.

The two matches have been scheduled to be played on September 11 and 13 in Chelmsford and Beckenham respectively. Jonathan Trott will be the head coach of the Lions for this series with the coaching group including former internationals Ravi Bopara and Graeme Swann.
