Mitchell Santner | Match Hero: Never disappoints, the Oval. Great place to play. Yeah, nice, nice little win. [On changing gears after the strategic timeout and whether there was a discussion to attack] I think with the dimensions of the ground, the left-right combo was good for us, and I think that served them really well as well. So, with that short side, you kind of just have to keep going, every ball and then eventually try do the other side. [On qualifying in the top three and Monday's match for a direct place in the final] Yeah, six wins out of seven, you're not guaranteed top one, so we know it's a big game. We know, quality teams all throughout this competition. So it's gonna be a tight finish, but yeah, we know we gotta do on Monday at home.
A first-ever win for the Rockets at the Oval, and they scampered through to a eventual convincing victory. They were in trouble at one stage, losing four wickets for 70-odd runs, but a crucial 78-run partnership for the fifth wicket sealed the deal. David played a solid hand, but it was Santner, notching up his maiden fifty in The Hundred, who took the pressure off and struck the winning runs. MI London were poor in the field; dropping three catches ultimately proved to be the difference today. With this win, the Rockets sit at the top of the table with 24 points, officially qualifying for the knockouts!
