PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Rockets had a great chance to seal their fate. They had qualified coming into this game but could have sealed the top spot but was not to be as the Brave came out with intent. 158 never looked safe and it wasn't to be in the end. Tristan Stubbs played the defining knock alongside Stoinis. The Leeds side in their last league game now have a shout of finising top. So, that sets up for another exciting clash. We will bring that you and much more. Bye bye for now...
Tristan Stubbs, Match Hero: (On the consolation win at the end of a difficult campaign) I think for what we’ve put in for the month, it’s disappointing, but it’s a nice way to finish off. (On the team’s preparation and whether they could have gone further) Definitely. In hindsight, it’s a bit frustrating. We gave it our all for the month. The first three games, lost a couple of close ones. And then it’s hard to get momentum going into the comp. And I think we’ve shown at the end what we can do, but it took us a while to get there. (On adapting to the 100-ball format) I found it very tough personally. You look at the scoreboard, you don’t know what to do. But the boys who have played it, they showed us they’re calm, they know what they’re doing. And unfortunately, it’s so quick. Like you say, you lose that small moment in the game and you lose the game. (On the pitches and conditions) They’ve been tough in Southampton with a big field. Also, you look at the scoreboard and you don’t know what’s a good score, batting first. So it was really nice to get out there on a good wicket and get a partnership going with someone. (On pacing his innings and his partnership with Marcus Stoinis) From what we played on the road. So, yeah, I think that helped us probably. But I knew once Stoin got out, we only needed 12. So one hit away and you had run a ball. So I was quite calm. (On his experience of The Hundred) Yeah, it was a great comp. Good month in the UK and we really enjoyed it.
21:18 Local Time, 20:18 GMT, 01:48 IST: The Leeds unit will be smiling. They have a chance now to finish top of the table and get a ticket directly for the finale. Rockets had won 6 on the trot but have been pipped in their last game. The Brave were eliminated coming into this but chased with aplomb. Smith and Ali started off on an indifferent note. But once Tristan Stubbs came in, he showed intent and found a superb partner in Stoinis. They took on the bowlers and paced the chase well. Santner bowled tightly and barely gave away anything but that was about it as the duo of Stubbs and Stoinis took on the other bowlers to chase it down with 3 balls to spare. The latter fell but Stubbs saw his team through. The Rockets needed the points to finish top and confirm their spot for the finale but was not to be.

Lewis Gregory to Tristan Stubbs, SIX, lofted over deep backward! That's it. The Brave have spoiled the party a little for the Rockets. They needed the points here but have been denied thanks to a fine chase from Tristan Stubbs and Stoinis. The Brave win by 6 wickets with 3 balls to spare

Who bowls the final over? Gregory? A little confab and Gregory it is. The set batter Tristan Stubbs will be on strike.

Ben Sanderson to Marcus Stoinis, out Caught by Ben Duckett!! Ben runs back and pouches it. Is it too late for a wicket? I don't think so. Was a full toss, outside off, Marcus Stoinis sliced it and the man at cover did the rest. That could have been handled better. End of a fine knock from Marcus Stoinis who infused a lot of pace into the game the moment he walked in. Ben Sanderson stuck to his plan of bowling a yorker and got his man despite missing the mark. Marcus Stoinis c Ben Duckett b Ben Sanderson 46(25) [4s-4 6s-3]
Ben Sanderson to Marcus Stoinis, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
92
Ben Sanderson to Tristan Stubbs, 1 run, hit back! The bowler palmed it down to long-off. That was bludgeoned. Was more of an evasive action I guess. That was hit back at the pace of knots

A huge confab. Every member of the Rockets unit has something to say I guess. Ben Sanderson will continue. 18 needed now. 10 balls to go.

Ben Sanderson to Marcus Stoinis, SIX, uh oh! Spoils the set. Was a fuller length delivery, outside off, Marcus Stoinis got under the ball and spanked it over the bowler's head. The bowler bowled it and knew it that he missed the mark. Vital sixer for Marcus Stoinis and his team

Ben Sanderson to Marcus Stoinis, no run, dot ball! Superb stuff from the Rockets and Ben Sanderson. Fuller, slower, outside off, Marcus Stoinis doesn't use his feet much and Marcus Stoinis inside edges it
88
Ben Sanderson to Tristan Stubbs, 1 run, only a single. Very full, angled in, Tristan Stubbs looks to drive and drags it wide of short fine. 24 off 12 now
87

Mitchell Santner to Tristan Stubbs, 1 run, fired on to the pads, nudged down to deep square for a single. Mitchell Santner finishes with none for 21. Very tight spell but he would have been happier with a couple of wickets. Still 26 needed off 15 now
