That's all from this contest. We'll see you again tomorrow. Goodbye!
Pooran | TKR captain: Coming into this game, we asked for a complete team effort, and I felt like the guys really turned up today and executed. (going all-spin in the powerplay) Again, obviously, it's match-up as well, right? They had a left-hander in the power play, and we felt like use Jed there. Obviously, three left-handers in the top five, six there, so we felt like today was a good day to use Jed. The way he bowled today was extremely well, complementing Sunil in the power play as well, even Akeal. So that was brilliant to see. But again, we're trying to figure out as much as possible. Again, a couple new faces, a new competition this year for us, right? It's not going to be easy. A lot of teams play really good cricket against us as a group, and we understand that. So we're just really happy that we could put a complete win tonight. Yeah, I mean, he's having a tremendous year this year with both bat and ball as well (talking about Narine), and we're just really lucky to have him. Be so consistent for this franchise, and he does it every single game, every year. And we're just happy that he's obviously batting well, and it was Dwayne's decision to put him to open as well. And kudos to him, he's taken the opportunity, and he has given us that spark, what we needed, and today was his day, and he showed us brilliantly with both bat and ball, and we're really happy for him. (A word on Pollard and all that he has achieved...) Obviously he's my mentor as well, big brother to me. And for me, he's the greatest T20 batsman who has played this game, in terms of where he's batted, and to be so consistent and do it the way he wanted to do it and to break the record, I'm just really happy for him and happy for everything he has achieved so far. And me personally, getting to see it close and the sacrifice, and the discipline he has, and the love for the game. A lot of people take that for granted, and he's been misunderstood a lot of times. But just really happy for him, personally for him and his family, for all they have achieved and all the sacrifice and the hard work, and really happy for him. (A word for the fans...) There's not much I can say to the fans. We love them, honestly, and we look forward to coming to Trinidad and playing in front of them and trying to put a smile on their face. We talk about they coming to see us win a game, and when we lose they're hurting, and when we win they're happy. So we're doing it for them as well, and we're really happy that we have the best fans in the Caribbean who could come and support us day in, day out, and we're really thankful.
Green | Tridents captain: Look, it was a disappointing score to post. That wicket was tough. Toss is obviously huge here in Trinidad, losing it didn't help. They've got some high-class spinners in Narine and Tariq. They proved impossible. To me, we probably just lacked a little bit of a plan to manipulate the strike. As a spinner myself, it's a lot easier when the batters are settling in, looking to just pat you back, and I felt we were a little bit tentative at times with that, and then it was trying to swing out. So we lacked a little bit of a plan against really, really good bowling, and if we could have scraped to 140, 150 perhaps we could have done a bit better, and then, you know, it was a disappointing effort in the field and a little bit with the ball at times, but it wasn't enough runs on the board. That's a question for management (why Rivaldo Clarke was moved from number four to number nine?). I was batting, obviously, in a time where he was going to go in. I think the decision to send Kevlon was that he swept well and reverse swept well in the last game and potentially had a little bit more power, and then Rivaldo, I thought the way he came in at the back end, still trusted his skills to get us up to that high 120 score. I was really proud of him. Well, look, any time it's tough to defend 127. I tried to chop and change as much as possible. We tried to bowl a lot of spin, use our front-line bowlers as much as possible. We needed to take wickets, so in a game like that defending 127, you have to take risk and be a little bit aggressive, go a little bit left of center at times, bowling Rivaldo Clark with his off-spin. You know, you've got to take wickets, but full credit to Sunil Narine and Colin Munro. They killed the back of that early and made our jobs really difficult.
Narine | Player of the Match: Tonight was a bit drier. Lines and lengths were better. As a collective group, we applied pressure from both ends. It's based on the way the game is going. The lineup we have, we have to try to win the powerplay. It's to lengthen the batting (decision to open the batting with him). The opportunity came and I grabbed it with both hands. It's a god-given talent I have and I'm trying to make the most of it. It's good - nice of the Queen's Park Cricket Club to give us that for our achievement (a stand named after him, Pollard and Bravo).
23:09 Local Time, 03:09 GMT, 08:39 IST: Much needed performance from the Knight Riders to lift the spirit around the camp. They've also delighted the home crowd who turned up in good numbers as they do in these parts. It was total domination right from the time they opted to bowl at the toss. Narine was brilliant as ever, giving away just two runs in his two overs in the powerplay while also picking up a wicket. The others backed him up and together they stifled Tridents, restricting them to just 127. But Narine wasn't done. He came out to open and smashed a quickfire fifty, killing the game along with Munro in the powerplay.
