There's just a little more than an hour left for the cut-off time, and much of that time will be needed by the groundstaff to get things ready for play, provided that rain stops soon. The covers remain firmly in place and with the delay stretching on, we’re now edging closer to losing overs. Conditions are far from ideal, with strong winds blowing and puddles beginning to form across the outfield. At this stage, things aren’t looking particularly promising.

Naseem Shah: [On playing with his younger brother] Obviously it's a proud moment for me as well, and obviously for my family, especially for my father. He, you know, like there was a time he was not allowing us to play cricket, and now we watches the TV early in the morning. So it's a proud moment for me and for him as well, and he performed well so far, and he worked really hard for that, and credit goes to him. [What do you expect to bring to the Patriots with your skill set?] Obviously, we are not in a very good position right now, and I'm trying my best to do well for my team. And you never know, like cricket is a very funny game. Half of tournament is done for us, but still we have to try to play some good cricket and win the games, and you never know about the table. [What has excited you the most about what you've seen from your team?] Honestly, we have a good combination so far. The result is not on our side, but hopefully we will play some good cricket because we have good all-rounders, and we have a good balanced team. So we need to play some good cricket, hopefully we play some good cricket. [What do you have to do to win tonight?] I believe we need to be better in our execution, both in batting and bowling. So yeah, we had a good meeting, and we will try to execute and try our best to win the game.

Alzarri Joseph: I think generally just keep it simple. I haven't tried to do too much. Obviously the wickets were a bit helpful for the games we played so far. So it's all about keep it simple. When I saw the squad first, I told myself the same thing. We have a really good fast bowling unit that's made up of mostly locals. So I think from what I've seen so far, I'm really happy and I can't wait to see how we all put it together for the rest of the tournament. Generally we're all different bowlers in our own way. Jayden, he does his thing with the new ball. Myself, I occasionally bowl the new ball a bit. Difference in pace in terms of Springer, but Springer bowls his cutters, his yorkers, and I think he's mixing and matching his variations a bit well. (Is there any banter trying to get that fastest bowler this season?) I wouldn't necessarily call a rivalry, but it's always good when you have, you know, the local boys bowling at that pace. But who knows? That might change.

Weather and pitch: Thunder, lightning, excessive rain and gusts of winds that you've never seen before. But thankfully right now we're okay. The ground staff have done a great job. Now the weather for tonight's fixture, another day-night game here in St Kitts, it's looking a little bit ominous, I must say. There's a 75% chance of rain and a strong wind going across to the stand to my left there. So actually it could be a curtailed game, but we're keeping our fingers crossed that it's not. So, same pitch. So what does that mean for the dimensions here at this venue? 70 down the ground. In this day and age, that's such a short hit. 64 is the longer boundary and 61 the shorter, but you're hitting into the wind. But actually I don't think players take that into consideration these days. It's a small ground. It's a six-hitting ground, this venue here at Warner Park. Now we're on the same surface. 350 runs were scored on it the other night. It was a belter. There were sixes galore, a plethora of balls into the fans. But I think even though the pitch has been under covers for 24 hours because of that inclement weather, it still looks pretty good, but it's a little clammy. A couple of nights ago when Hasaranga and Saim Ayub got the ball to turn, which is slightly uncommon for this venue if you look through the stats over the last few seasons. And I think there might get a little bit more spin here this evening. All in all though, I stand here as a former batter at the Lozac Road end for the pitch check, and I think runs on the board. Jason Holder: I just said it's a good surface, you know. We just got to make use of it. We've got first dig, having a go at it, so it's important our batsmen take the opportunity and put some runs on the board. A lot better than I was a couple of days ago anyway. It's a new day. You know, that's gone. That's in the past. It's important for us just to look on this game. I told the guys not to look too far ahead in the competition. We've got Antigua tonight. We've got to pay special attention to them and just make sure we execute. I think that's our biggest thing, execute in the key moments of this game and win them. They (crowd) have been loyal over the years, not only this year, but we had a good crowd the last game and I expect a really good crowd tonight. Hopefully the weather stays the way we get a really good game. We've got three changes. Navin Bidaisee, Alick Athanaze, Jeremiah Louis come in.

Moeen Ali: We will bowl. Just because wicket seems like it's going to stay good, and obviously the weather as well. I think it suits us. I mean every game is crucial for us still. We're playing well, but we've also had a couple of bad losses in between, so we just got to stay focused and do the right things. I think it's great to have those options, different types of bowlers as well, so different surfaces makes a big difference. Springer last game didn't bowl and he's been probably our best bowler. So yeah, it's a very exciting side. We do have a nicely balanced team. Sometimes you want to play the extra batter, sometimes the bowler, but yeah, it's great for our side.
